A great way to explore a career you're considering is to connect with other people who are doing the work already. Almost every profession has an organization that represents people in that field. Here is one of the links that will help you find an organization for your field:
Email, phone or write to the organization and ask for pamphlets and a schedule of events that they are planning. See if you can connect with someone in their home office and arrange a meeting with a member in your local area.
Google the organization's name and read the articles that have appeared in magazines and newspapers in recent months.
Check if they have a student organization. Many of them do. If so, consider joining so you get on their mailing list and can begin building your contact list.
